Poll Conducted Aug. 10-11 by TargetPoint Consulting Shows Michelle Steel Tied with Rouda 42%-42%
Huntington Beach, CA– Today, RealClearPolitics reported a new poll conducted by TargetPoint Consulting had Orange County Supervisor Michelle Steel tied with Democrat Congressman Harley Rouda. The poll, which was conducted August 10-11, shows Steel and Rouda tied 42%-42% with 16% undecided.The poll also shows that only 28% of the voters polled in the survey said they want to re-elect Democrat Harley Rouda, while 42% said they want to give someone else a chance.
RealClearPolitics also reported that 42% of voters in the district who were polled say they don’t know who Rouda is or have an unfavorable opinion of him, while just 30% have a favorable opinion of the freshman Congressman.
“This poll clearly shows why the DCCC from day one has named Harley Rouda as one of their most vulnerable members. Rouda is totally out-of-sync with his own district and voters are now realizing Rouda says one thing and does another by voting with socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 92% of the time,” said general consultant Sam Oh.

Steel represents the county’s 2nd supervisorial district which overlaps 66% of California’s 48th congressional district which encompasses all or portions of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, and Westminster.
