Huntington Beach, CA – Michelle Steel, Republican candidate for CA-48, today called on Governor Gavin Newsom to postpone the April 10th deadline for payment of property taxes.

“Homeowners in Orange County and across California are struggling and they need assistance now more than ever,” Steel said. “The federal, state and county government has done a lot to help small business owners and other taxpayers, but homeowners also need help, and the prudent thing to do is postpone the April 10th deadline.”

Michelle Steel is a lifelong advocate on behalf of taxpayers including leading an effort to return more than $400,000,000 to taxpayers while at the Board of Equalization.

“Californians were already struggling under the weight of higher taxes and job killing-measures like AB 5,” Steel added. “With the onslaught of COVID-19 they are struggling even more which is why the state must delay property tax payments until people are on stronger financial footing.”
