Rouda silent on defunding police

Endorsed by radical defund police group
Steel: I do not and will not support defunding our law enforcement

Huntington Beach – Michelle Steel, Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors and Republican candidate for CA-48, today reiterated her support for local law enforcement and renewed calls for Harley Rouda to take a position whether he supports defunding local police departments.

“I do not and will not support defunding our local law enforcement,” Steel said. “This is about public safety, and Harley Rouda owes voters an answer on this issue of importance to Orange County families.”

Despite declaring it a “great honor” to have the endorsement of the radical Indivisible, a group whose priority is to defund local law enforcement, Rouda remains curiously silent as to the issue of defunding police.

“We must work together to ensure more training and community policing, but defunding police is not the answer,” Steel said. “It’s time Congressman Rouda steps up and lets our families know if he’s with them and their safety or if he’s with radical groups like Indivisible and defunding our police.”

Steel was recently endorsed by California’s Crime Survivor’s PAC.
