Tax Cheat & Loser Rouda’s Lying Binge Continues

Orange County’s resident storyteller spins another yarn about corporate PAC donations
Takes millions from lobbyists, corporate PACs via Pelosi

Huntington Beach, CA – Orange County’s resident storyteller, Harley Rouda, has written a new fairytale claiming he doesn’t take corporate PAC contributions. However, as voters quickly figured out before tossing him out of office, Rouda is a liar, and this is another attempt to rewrite his own history.

Just yesterday, Rouda claimed he doesn’t take a dime from corporate PACs:

“But the fact is according to Open Secrets, Rouda is a prolific taker of corporate PAC donations. Not to mention that throughout his losing campaign last year, Rouda was more than happy to take literally millions in TV advertising from Nancy Pelosi’s House Majority PAC, which, you guessed it, is funded by lobbyists and corporate PAC donations.

“Harley Rouda has literally become Orange County’s resident storyteller – his yarns are outright lies,” said Steel Spokesperson Lance Trover. “Rouda is trying to run from the fact he’s a tax cheat and loser, but that’s exactly why voters kicked him to the curb last November.”

Throughout the last two months Rouda has been caught lying on numerous occasions – even being called out by members of his own party:

Rouda was caught lying about Michelle Steel two weeks ago.

And, in case anyone needs a refresher: several weeks ago, a leaked email chain showed Rouda forcing National Democrats to spread lies about Michelle Steel – that even they thought went too far:

“Rouda, who lost by 2 points in a district President Biden carried by a similar margin, is mounting a rematch with Steel. Another DCCC researcher in the email chain pushed back on calling Steel the “QAnon Congresswoman” in the release “because she hasn’t personally expressed support for QAnon” and offered “maybe another adjective like ‘divisive’ or ‘do-nothing.’” But, according to the campaign staffer, Rouda had requested that the campaign include the nickname. The nickname and the line about impeachment remained in the final draft reporters received Thursday afternoon.”

Then, a Far-Left Progressive group called him out for airing racist ads that were not “culturally competent” and “anti-China” against Michelle Steel in 2020 – a Korean immigrant who came to this country as a teenager in search of a better life. According to the San Francisco Chronicle citing an analysis by the progressive strategy and donor group Way to Win:

“Democrats ran ads that were not ‘culturally competent.’ The study called out former Orange County Rep. Harley Rouda for airing ‘anti-China’ ads against an Asian-American GOP candidate, now-Rep. Michelle Steel, in a district that is 18% Asian Pacific Islander.”

Rep. Michelle Steel represents California’s 48th Congressional District, which covers most of the Orange County coast and includes all or parts of Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Midway City, Fountain Valley, Aliso Viejo, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Laguna Niguel, and Westminster. Michelle Steel is a first generation Korean-American who believes in the promise of America and has worked as a tax-fighter in Southern California for decades. She was elected to Congress in November 2020 and sits on the House Committees on Education and Labor and Transportation and Infrastructure in the 117th Congress.
